Cameroon Coronavirus Update and Commercial Flights resumption

Government Coronavirus Update:

The President of Cameroon on 19th May 2020 address the nation and emphasised on several measures taken by the government to control the spread of Coronavirus in the country. He insisted on no public gatherings, mandatory masks to be worn by all in public, enforcement of social distancing and the washing of hands. The latest statistics from the ministry of public Health as of 10th May 2020 indicates the following:

  • 2579 Confirmed cases
  • 114 deaths and
  • 1465 Recoveries

Flights to Cameroon:

Commercial Flights: As the world take gradual steps to re-open for trading, some commercial airlines have programmed flights to Cameroon. As per the attached notice, Airfrance will commence flights to Cameroon (Yaounde and Douala) once a every week from 25th May 2020 with some travel conditions to be met.

Chartered Flights: Oil and Gas companies are now using chartered flights into Cameroon to carry out their crew change (Perenco and Golar as examples). Various countries have also been sending chartered flights to pick up their nationals from Cameroon.
